Dr. Chris Wilson

Dr. Wilson, originally from Troy, Michigan, first experienced chiropractic in high school as an athlete. He was helped tremendously and was kept from any future damage. Later he attended Albion College to earn a degree in Biology and played football. Overcome with an overwhelming sense to help others, Dr. Wilson went on to attend Life University in Marietta, Georgia. During his time at Life University, he held leadership positions and achieved multiple chiropractic certifications. One certification he is most proud is the Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (AMIT) certification. This is a revolutionary technique that seeks to address joint instability and muscular imbalances. Dr. Wilson is able to predict and prevent injuries, and deliver a treatment that will have permanent results.

Before moving back to Michigan, he spent some time in Texas to train with another chiropractor. Dr. Wilson was able to treat athletes of all levels, from high school to professionals. After graduating in 2020, with magna cum laude honors, Dr. Wilson started his practice at Oakland Sports Chiropractic with other like-minded individuals striving to serve the surrounding communities. Outside from practice, he is an avid Detroit sports fan and enjoys being outdoors with family, friends, or his dog, Koda. He is excited to help people maximize their lives through chiropractic and AMIT!

Advanced Muscle Integration Technique

Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (AMIT) is a systematic treatment of common joint and muscle conditions experienced by people. AMIT is a revolutionary advancement in sports medicine.

Rapid Correction of Instabilities

Practitioners can predict injuries by examining and identifying instabilities in the body, which in most cases lead to injury.  AMIT allows for rapid correction of instabilities resulting in improved function, reduced pain and a higher level of performance.

The developers of the AMIT method discovered that the leading cause of pain is inhibited muscles resulting from overuse or injury.  Although the pain of the injury goes away over time, the functional imbalance remains. Over time, these functional imbalances lead to chronic pain. By defining and correcting these imbalances, healing and rehabilitation can take place rapidly without the need for drugs or surgery.
